Manuel Ribmar

Manuel "Riba" Ribmar is a black belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter under both Rodrigo Pinheiro and Cicero Costha. Riba is regarded as one of the top middleweight competitors of his generation. Riba's accomplishments include titles at both the World and South American championships under Costha.

Riba was born in September 1993 and grew up with soccer, capoeira, judo and skating. He was introduced to Jiu-Jitsu at age 12 by his brother Bosco Junior and later enrolled in his first class at Itmar Coty's Academy. 

Riba's early belt career included multiple coaches, including Orley Lobato, Agenor Alvex, and Master Fautino "Pina" Neto. Riba earned his blue and purple belts under Master Pina.

Riba spent much of his teenage years piecing together money for his training and recovery from an injury. After 15 months away from the mat rehabbing an injury, Riba sold all of his belongings and moved to Sao Paulo where he joined Costha's PSLPB team and later earned his brown belt. 

In 2015, Riba traveled to the United States and competed in the Pan American Championship and the World Championship. While in the U.S. he earned his black belt under Rodrigo Pinheiro. In 2016, Riba began representing the New School Brotherhood academy in Texas.
